I am a UK business. Which type of domain should I choose?
The general guidelines are that .COM domains suggest that the owner is international and commercial. A .CO.UK domain suggests a UK based commercial organisation. Many companies find it useful to buy both types and 'point' the unused one at the main site.
Once I've registered my domain, will my details be publicly available?
UK domains are registered with the government appointed registration authority which is Nominet. Nominet publishes your details on their WHOIS system, but you can elect to opt out. .COM (TLD)domains do not have an opt out facility.
